Malawi has enjoyed relative peace and security despite the turmoil in the surrounding states. PAOC work in this field has enjoyed excellent growth in recent years. We now have over 600 churches in Malawi. Our main thrusts have been urban and rural church planting and founding a Bible school. In addition, ERDO has provided containers of food and clothing that our churches have distributed to hundreds of needy families. The Village of Hope (VOH) has been under construction since 2004. We currently have six homes completed, with six more homes in the construction stages, nearing completion. The VOH has been operating its Children’s Homes since January 2006 with three homes currently operating with resident children. When the VOH is operating at full capacity, it will be home for 120 children, offering hope to the orphaned and vulnerable children of Malawi.

A priority project is the purchase of a property or building in the city of Blantyre as a home for City Pentecostal Church. This is a growing city church and we need a breakthrough after many years of renting facilities.

The ongoing need for well-trained Christian leaders means we must upgrade the short-term course at the Bible school to a more substantial program. The school also requires additional equipment and a number of student scholarships. The development of extension programs in Bible and pastoral training to enhance the effectiveness of existing pastors is another urgent need in this African nation.

Pentecostal Bible College is temporarily using facilities on the same site as The Village of Hope – Malawi Trust.  In addition, the offices of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Malawi are located on the same plot of ground.  A major goal is to get permanent facilities for the Bible College constructed on this property.
Prayer Focus

The Church in Malawi has experienced growth in recent years, but a great deal of development is still required including a Bible College with a degree-level program and the further development of strong national leaders. Pray for these needs. Pray for a decrease in the rising rate of violent crime.

We would also like to request prayer for the safety of the house mothers, aunties, children and all other workers of the VOH-Malawi. We would also appreciate prayer for God’s direction in the placement of  house mothers, aunties, and children.
