Click on the right panel for missionaries in Romania

Romania has suffered under 50 years of Communist rule. The country’s moral structure has deteriorated and Romania has one of the highest abortion rates in the world. The majority of its people live in poverty. Some of the least reached peoples in Romania are Muslim or come from the Roma (Gypsy) community.

Through food and clothing boxes provided by our Canadian churches, the PAOC has been able to provide critical assistance to over 50,000 people. Also, short-term missions teams have been very effective in distributing Bibles to thousands of Romanian school children.

The PAOC’s ministry in Romania focuses on ministering to the emerging, cultural generation of Romanians. The PAOC has missionaries at the International Christian Assembly in Bucharest who are active in establishing cell groups in the city, training leaders for evangelism and discipling new believers. The PAOC has also extended its reach to the youth, university population (over 500,000 students) and gypsy children. Furthermore, there is a strong ChildCARE Plus ministry active in Romania with over 200 sponsored children.

Prayer Focus

Romania is a nation in ruins after 50 years of repressive Communist rule. The physical and social needs of the people are enormous. Pray for God to heal this land. The 1989 revolution brought religious freedom however it is precarious. Pray it will be solidified and extended.
