“IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS CONCERNING YOU”

December 2008

God has been moving by His Spirit and we really sense that God is going to do what the Church has been praying for concerning our beautiful country of Guinea: praying against corruption, injustice and poverty.  For so many years we have been praying for Revival.  We believe that what is happening is a direct answer to our prayers.  We put everything in God’s hands.  Today, I was in a governmental meeting concerning the Guinean Church.  Praise God, the Church is shining; for the Glory of the Lord has risen upon His Church.

Making a Difference!

Alleluia Update Guinea, West Africa

Greetings ! from very hot and humid Conakry, Guinea.

We have been under a huge attack of the enemy. We must be worrying the devil a lot.

In the last couple of months many things have happened. One of my pastors from the interior of the country was in prison; accused falsely of Child Trafficking. I had to go to defend him. It was all over just last week. We also had two pastors killed in an auto accident and a third taken seriously ill and had to have an operation. Then last Monday, one of my teachers lost his little boy – died from sickness.

On Sunday, the 9th of November, we celebrated at the main church our 15th year anniversary of Alleluia Church in Guinea. The anniversary service really went well, which was a real blessing as we had put in a lot of work

Pray for Budget

We are struggling with the budget. Please do pray for us that the Lord will help us meet our budget. There are many mouths to feed. Many people are finding things too costly. My guard and his family didn’t have any food for three days, before I found out. Bev noticed that they were not preparing any meals. They had nothing to prepare. They had already received their salary but had it all spent. So, I went out and bought them a bag of rice and gave them some money to prepare sauce. There are many sick that need treatment. Many needs and at times like the present, very little means to help.

Schools

When I was in the interior, I stopped at our Alleluia Church in Marella. One of our members had an outdoor private school of 400 students. He got sick and died – a very young man. The school was on private property and the hangars all fell apart. Now no school for these kids. A principal who goes to the church asked us to help. Well, we are building hangars on the church property with straw roofs for these children so that they can go to school; that is until we are able to find the funds to build a proper school building. So many immediate needs!

Praise report

All our schools this year passed the government compulsory exams for entry into grade 7 and grade 11; 100% success!  Alleluia Schools are considered one of the top schools in Guinea. We thank God!

The church roofs are coming along. It is not easy trying to teach the nationals how to put a roof on a 36 foot wide building with no pillars to support it. But they are doing a good job.

God bless you in all you do and may God always keep you along your paths from day to day.

(Sunday morning Nov. 9th on the way to the anniversary service, I had a car accident and smashed in the front end of my vehicle. Thank God, no one was seriously hurt. My neck is a little sore. The Toyota is in the garage and we are looking for parts. Please pray the Lord will provide for the repairs.)

Blessings

One of our pastors up country was jailed on Tuesday on false accusations.  Of course, the authorities want money, around $400.U.S.  Bill left today to go up country to see what he can do.  The pastor was supposed to be moved to another jail in another village today.  They have agreed to let him out until Bill arrives.  Let’s pray that God will give Bill favour with the authorities and the charges will be dropped.  Pray for Bill as he needs wisdom and understanding in this situation.  Pray that whoever it maybe who is behind these false accusations would be brought to light and restoration would take place.

The greater the battle the greater the victory will be ours in Jesus Name.

Another Miracle in Marella

We were in the process of putting up our church sign in this total Muslim community that didn’t permit evangelism, or a church to be established in their town. At first, all the town leaders were against a church being established in Marella. Alleluia is the only church in this place. This Muslim Holy Man was in my house and when I was explaining to my guard how we got the property in Marella, I said that we bought it from the Islamic League and he started to laugh, because he knew that this was impossible. I found out later that the property was purchased from an Imam. Unbelievable, but True! With God all things are possible!

We always pray for favour, first with God and then with man. That is exactly what God has given us.

It was time to put up the church sign. I told the foreman where to plant the church sign. Little did I know that the sign was planted in front of the house of one of the influential Wahabias, an extremist Muslim group who were totally against the church being planted in THEIR TOWN – MARELLA. A group of these men came to the church protesting, and told the foreman to remove the sign immediately! The foreman sent them to see the leader of the town; the one who gave him the permission to place the sign on this spot. They left very upset to see this man; the Wahabias.  It was not well received.

The leader of this community sent his secretary to see where the sign was planted. Upon arrival the secretary asked, “What is your problem? The sign is not on your property. It is on the side of the road and the road belongs to the government.”  The Wahabia said, “Yes, but every time I come out of my house I see the Christian sign and the two red crosses.”  The secretary said, “No problem, just turn your house around and put the door on the other side, so that you won’t see the Christian’s sign when you come out of your house.”That was the end of the problem. The signboard remains; no one dares touch it and all the main leaders of the town are for the presence of the church in their community. They call the church “Eglise Alleluia de Marella. The well given by JESUS; what a miracle! An update on this mighty gift. It never runs dry and is the best producing well in the Tanene area. Dug by hand and only about 8 meters deep, this well is a blessing from God to the village of Tanene. People never cease talking about this well and not only talking about it, but also depending on this well for their livelihood. There is something about digging a well in an arid land that goes further and much deeper in meaning. While all the other wells run dry at the end of the dry season, the well given by JESUS continues to bring forth water that quenches the thirst. Barrels of water are drawn from this well every day. Let us pray that these people will be drawn to taste the Living Water, that their spiritual thirst may be quenched. Two ladies went to the pastor and said; “Please, pastor, don’t ever stop us from taking water from your well.” The pastor asked, “Why?”  They said, “This is what we do. We take the well water home and filter it. After putting the water in little plastic bags, we walk around the town selling the water and with this we support our families.” He does supply for all of our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.I want to thank those who responded to the last newsletter for help for the roofs of two churches. We put a partial concrete slab on one of the churches so they could worship out of the rain until we get the other roof done. We are working on it and things are going quite well, in spite of the raising prices of materials.I do need your prayers. I am way behind in raising the budget for Guinea. Actually, I am over $30,000 behind. The needs on this field are so many and so great. I have looked at where I can decrease the budget to make ends meet, but it is not easy. This is the rainy season and many are sick and dying. I try to help those I can. And I still do believe that Our God will supply all of our needs according to His Riches in Glory through Christ Jesus. Thanks for believing in us, your workers for His Glory. And GOD`S promise is that He will supply for all of our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.========== May 2008We have so much for which to give thanks to Almighty God. The year 2008 began with an attack from the enemy – another National Strike. The Church prayed and thank God, He gave us the victory!A team came from Canada to help us with God’s work in Guinea.  The team consisted of six men; four from the Stonewall Church (Manitoba) and two from the Arnprior Church (Ontario). Part of the team worked on the Tanene Church pews and the others drilled a well. These people were not only here to drill wells, but also came to train others to do likewise. It is very important to not only give people fish to eat, but to also teach them how to catch their own fish. The well was drilled in a rocky place and the drilling went on for over a week. The depth of the well is 250 feet. Thank God for these men; they really know their work. They were determined with the goal of at least drilling one well and installing the pump.Praise the Lord, the vision was accomplished! Special thanks to Troy, Ross and Andrew. They did a great job! All of this would not have been possible if it was not for another man used by God to bless Guinea with a well drilling machine; a man from Sioux Lookout, named Stan Nissley. Three different churches, from two provinces, all worked together with God to bless Guinea with water. Only God could accomplish such a thing.Kevin, Russell and Pastor Bruce did a great job of putting the church pews together. They ministered to the children who always called them fote (White Man).Pastor Bruce was a very busy man involved in ministry, not only on Sundays preaching the Gospel, but teaching in the Bible studies, and in Pastoral Seminars – training and in Evangelism – winning souls. Special thanks to Pastor Bruce; he touched many lives. All these men made a great contribution in the development of God’s plan for Guinea. We thank God!

The Tanene Church and Marella Church are almost completed. I want to thank Pastor Mike Davis (Brandon MB) and also Pastor Brian Moss (Pembroke ON) and their churches for their investments and vision for these church buildings, built in totally Muslim communities. We thank God for all that has been accomplished. But we do have a problem. When I did the estimate for the construction of the two churches, the dollar was US$1 to 6.900 Guinean Francs. The dollar dropped drastically to lower than 3.000 F.G. to the dollar. The prices of the materials kept on climbing. Therefore both churches still need roofs. It will cost about $10,000 per roof to complete. At a time like this; we just have to put our faith and trust in God. These are well-built buildings that need roofs with the rainy season fast approaching. We are praying that God will supply the funds. I want to thank you for your love, your prayers and your support. Continue to remember us in your prayers, especially re: finances. And we do need your prayers for the fact that the rainy season is coming. IN EVERYTHING WE GIVE THANKS!GOD BLESS YOU – OUR FELLOW WORKERS!
